Adoption of the rule on the 2026 contribution

time 3m

The public consultation on the draft Rule on the Contribution of the Chambre de l’assurance, held from October 2 to November 13, 2025, is now complete. No comments were received. The Rule on the Contribution is therefore approved as proposed and will come into force on January 1, 2026.

This rule aims to:

  • Consolidate the contribution regulations of the ChAD and the CSF into a single rule;
  • Provide a transitional measure for representatives working exclusively in mutual funds and/or scholarship plans.

Contribution terms for the year 2026

In accordance with the adopted rule:

  • For all

    • The amount of the annual contribution will be indexed on January 1, 2026, according to the rate of increase of the general Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Québec for the period ending September 30, 2025.

  • Representatives working exclusively in mutual funds or scholarship plans

    • Contribution reduced to 50% of the annual amount, invoiced to your firm through NRD.
    • This reduction reflects the transitional period during which the Chambre will oversee these disciplines, until July 4, 2026 at the latest.

  • Representatives working in mutual funds or scholarship plans AND in another discipline overseen by the Chambre

    • Half of the annual contribution will be invoiced to your firm through NRD.
    • You will have to pay the second half of the annual contribution: the Autorité des marchés financiers will send you an invoice for this in January. This measure applies since you remain a member of the Chambre due to your activities in insurance or financial planning.

  • All other representatives overseen by the Chambre

    • Contribution unchanged: the full annual contribution applies.

You will receive your annual contribution invoice from the Autorité des marchés financiers at the beginning of January. For more details, consult the Professionals – Representatives – Obligations section on the AMF website.
