Understanding the five main types of insurance so that you can find the right fit for each client.

This CE activity is designed to broaden your knowledge of individual health insurance products. It explores the main categories of this type of insurance – extended health insurance, travel insurance, long term care insurance and accident insurance – and takes an in-depth look at critical illness insurance. Topics include coverage, exclusions, policy duration, premiums and tax impacts, as well as policy riders that are typically available for certain products.

Although these types of insurance have some features in common, each is distinct and addresses fundamentally different needs. For this reason, before you recommend a specific product or a policy rider, you must make sure that you have first adequately defined your client’s needs.
