As mentioned previously, if the client has an investment objective, in particular if they are opting for an insurance of persons product with an investment component, the advisor must have access to additional information to establish their investor profile. “Insurance product with an investment component” is intended to mean any product for which the client has decision-making authority regarding investments. Individual variable insurance contracts (segregated funds) and universal life insurance are examples of products in this category.
