Role of the Syndic

The duties of the syndic involve inquiring into, either on its own initiative or on receiving information, the practices of a representative who allegedly violated the Act respecting the distribution of financial products and services (Bill 188), the Securities Act (R.S.Q., c. V-1.1) or their regulations.

Once the inquiry is over, the syndic may decide to file a formal complaint, if necessary, with the Disciplinary Committee against a representative or decide on an administrative measure.

This function is assumed by Me Caroline Champagne.
