Ethics

Does the FNA have to be signed by the client?

No, but some insurances companies require it based on their internal politics and procedures. Moreover, it would be preferable to give a copy of the FNA to the client.

For how many years a representative should keep the clients files?

Five years after the last transaction in the file. However, the syndic can investigate on events held back further than five years.

Are representatives allowed to participate in sales contests?

Yes, but they must always put their clients’ interests first. Sections 18, 20 and 21 of the Chambre’s Code of Ethics are very clear in this regard.
