Composition of the Committee
The Disciplinary Committee is composed of lawyers and practising members of the Chambre. The chairperson and vice-chairperson are lawyers with at least ten years of practice and are appointed by the minister of Finance. The practising members of the Chambre are appointed by the board of directors. The term of the chairperson will not exceed five years and the term of the other Committee members will not exceed three.
A disciplinary complaint is heard by three members of the Disciplinary Committee, that is, the chairperson or vice-chairperson who is assisted by two other persons of the same sector of activity and marketing sector as the representative aimed by a complaint.
The first marketing sector is formed by representatives who conduct business for a firm that is a deposit institution; the second sector is formed by representatives who conduct business for a firm that is a financial institution or a person related to a financial institution, other than a deposit institution; and the third sector is formed by the remaining representatives.
