Where it is used and permitted, use of the Chambre de la sécurité financière (Chamber) logo must abide by the following three criteria:

  • Conform to its original shape
  • Stand out clearly
  • Be displayed in its entirety

The logo’s integrity, in content and form, must be preserved at all times.

Terms of use

The Chamber’s logo can be used by regional sections and partners under agreements or by persons who have obtained written approval from the Chamber by submitting a written request to that effect using the form required by the Chamber.

  • The logo used must conform to the original held by the Chamber’s secretary.
  • Representatives who belong to the Chamber must refer to the provisions of the Code of Ethics of the Chambre de la sécurité financière (R.S.Q. c. D-9.2, r.1.01) pertaining to use of the Chamber’s graphic symbol.

Prohibition on use

It is strictly prohibited to modify the elements that make up the Chamber’s logo, such as the typography and symbol.

1. Composition of the logo

1.1 Meaning of the symbol

Notice the components: The overall stylized “S” shape, the six rectangles and their upward sweep:

  • Stylized “S” shape: This shape represents the “s” in “security”, a key word in the Chamber’s name, while also recalling the “$” dollar sign, the symbol par excellence of the world of finance.
  • Six rectangles: They represent the six disciplines that were governed by the Chamber.
  • Upward sweep: It inspires vitality and growth.

1.2 Logo components

  • Graphic symbol
  • Name: "Chambre de la sécurité financière" is the name that accompanies the graphic symbol.
  • Section signature (if any)
  • Promotional signature (if any): "One option: competence."
    No promotional signature (or slogan) may be used with the logo without prior written authorization from the Chamber to this effect.

As a whole, the logo simultaneously evokes documents and money, the two foundations of the profession’s action. Both as a whole and through its movement, the logo is reminiscent of a flag waving in the wind, a symbol of pride and of belonging to a group of professionals who assert their presence and know how to take the place which is rightfully theirs.

2. Use of the logo

2.1 Original form, colours and typography

The logo must always appear as originally created in terms of both form and colours. The outline of the shape and colours must not be changed in any way. For example, doubling the outline of the rectangles is not acceptable.

The logo must always appear with all of its components. It is not acceptable for the logo to appear with only one or a few of its components.

Ideally, the name must be part of the logo. However, it is acceptable for the logo to appear without the name “Chambre de la sécurité financière” when the logo appears in a document as a reminder.

The logo can be reproduced using the following colours:

  • Single colour: Black (or close to black)
  • Reversed single colour: white
  • Four flat colours: Black and Pantone* 357U, 2915U and 647U
  • Four colour process
  • Reversed four flat colours: Black and Pantone* 357U, 2915U and 647U
  • Reversed four colour process

*Pantone: Trademark of a graphic arts multinational that sets standards for the colours of printing inks.

The single colour (black or white) version of the logo must be used on printer material with fewer than four colours. The single colour (black or white) version of the logo must be used on a textured background, or background that is grey or any other colour.

The typography used for the signature of regional sections or promotional signature must be ARIAL.

2.2 Positioning and protection zone

Ideally, the logo is placed in the top left corner of the document and can be located in another place, vertically (for example, at the centre or bottom of the document). The logo is positioned in the centre or right of the document if it is impossible to do otherwise.

The logo must always be placed in an open space, i.e., in an area that is free of all other visual elements. A protection zone must be maintained. However, the promotional signature “Competence” or the section name can be placed close to the logo. Further explanation is provided below.

For example, it is not acceptable to place the logo above any illustration whatsoever or above lines of writing, to place an illustration or lines of writing above the logo, or to place an illustration or lines of writing very close to the logo. Only the promotional signature “One option: competence” or the name of the section may be placed close to the logo, below the name “Chambre de la sécurité financière”, or below the logo as a whole.
